Séfora Camazano is a Brazilian contemporary artist based in Valencia, Spain. Born in Brazil and educated in visual communication and design, she has developed a multidisciplinary practice combining contemporary portraiture, photography, digital painting and hand-finished mixed-media techniques.
Her Brazilian background remains central to her artistic perspective. It informs her sensitivity to cultural identity, migration, memory, family history and the experience of building a life between countries.
Working from Spain within an international context, Camazano connects a Latin American visual and emotional heritage with European art history. Her work occupies a space between these traditions, allowing personal testimony to become part of a broader cultural narrative.

Camazano’s practice is centred on contemporary figurative art and portraiture. Her images are created through an extensive process that begins with listening, research and photography before moving into digital painting, Fine Art printing and manual intervention.
This hybrid method reflects the complexity of migration and cultural identity. Photography preserves a trace of reality, while painting introduces memory, interpretation and symbolic transformation.
The women represented in her work come from different countries and social contexts. Many have experienced migration, displacement, violence or major personal change. Camazano presents them not as passive subjects, but as individuals whose presence, dignity and autonomy reshape the image.
Her work therefore belongs both to the field of Brazilian contemporary art and to a wider international conversation about visibility, human rights and the construction of identity.

Migrants
Female Portraits: Migrants is a photographic project bringing together portraits of migrant women from multiple nationalities. Each participant contributes personal photographs connected to her country of origin, family history and migration experience.
These private images are presented alongside the contemporary portrait, creating a visual dialogue between the woman she was, the places she left and the identity she continues to construct.
The project transforms migration from an abstract political concept into a collection of individual lives. Through photographs, memories and testimony, it creates a living archive of displacement, belonging and cultural continuity.
For Camazano, who has lived the experience of migration herself, the series is also connected to her own Brazilian-Spanish identity and to the emotional distance between one’s place of origin and one’s present home.
