International Prize Caravaggio – Great Master of Art

On May 5th, during a ceremony held at the Palacio de Santoña in Madrid, I had the honor of receiving the International Prize Caravaggio – Great Master of Art, awarded by art critics Salvatore Russo and Francesco Saverio Russo.

This recognition distinguishes artistic trajectories built on merit, coherence, and a distinctive visual language. For me, receiving it in Spain carries special meaning: it is the first time I have been awarded this prize in the country where I have chosen to develop this stage of my life and work.

The award comes at a moment when my projects are in full motion — Female Portraits: Migrants is currently in its fourth exhibition venue — and I receive it as a recognition not only of an aesthetic, but of a way of understanding art: as a process of research, as an act of listening, and as a space where those who rarely have a voice can finally be seen.

After more than twenty years of integrating photography, painting, design, and, more recently, literature, this award encourages me to continue exploring. I am currently working on Portraits of the Soul: Transfiguration, a new project where the image becomes a bridge between the visible and the invisible, between human experience and its most essential dimension.

Thank you to everyone who makes it possible for this work to continue having meaning.
